App Of The Month: Roomer

Have you ever planned out your trip and purchased a non-refundable hotel room? Then all of a sudden you had to cancel it. Understandably you would be upset that you wasted money on a room you aren’t even going to get to use. Well there is now an app to help solve this issue, Roomer!
Roomer is a free app that allows you to book a hotel reservation at a discount from other people who had to cancel their trip. Rooms can be found all over the world at different prices. It is great for the person who can’t use the room because now they have an opportunity to get money from their non-refundable room. On the other hand a person traveling can get a room at a nicely discounted rate.

For the Buyer

Roomer does charge a 15% of the reservation fee. There are TripAdvisor ratings attached to it. The dates of when the room is available can also be found.

If you are a last-minute or spontaneous traveler this can also work out great because they even have an ‘Anytime’ area where you can search for open rooms that are open at anytime. Or if you know when you are trying to go somewhere you can narrow down your search that way.

There is also an area where you can click on the map and it gives you a better idea of the area that the hotel is in.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I would really like to see if I could get a great priced hotel that someone wasn’t able to use. I think the more people who are aware of it the more beneficial this app could potentially become. Seems like a cool option that I hope I can try out one of these days.
Have you ever tried Roomer?

Sometimes you will arrive at the airport really early anticipating very long security lines only to find out there is barely anyone there. Other times you may have too much liquids in your carry on bag only to be turned away from TSA and now have to check your bag. It is a lot of information that changes. The TSA realized all of this and more and has decided to make an app, My TSA, to help passengers.
