When getting married people are always looking to see where to have it, what fits their budget, their style, and so fourth. Some opt for a destination wedding and others in their hometown. For Jamie and Tim it was a a beautiful hometown wedding in San Diego, California that truly defined them and what they wanted for their day!
Almost anyone who thinks of Napa, California automatically thinks of wine. Rightfully so since it is wine country! However there are other things to do in Napa, besides drinking wine. Being a person who rarely ever drinks alcohol, I really wanted to see all that I could get into in a couple of days in Napa sans wine.
Napa, California is widely known for its wine. There are several vineyards and wine tours all up and down the area. Just as much as Napa Valley is said to have amazing wine, they also have delicious food. Restaurants and other food vendors are everywhere. There are several Michelin rated restaurants to choose from or more affordable and less fancy, but equally delicious establishments to choose from. So when I got the opportunity to take the Foodies on Foot Food Tour, I couldn’t wait to taste all the different food!
When heading out to Napa, California, usually the first thing on almost everyone’s mind is wine. Although for many that is a great way to unwind, heading to the spa is an awesome way to do so as well! So after a long flight and then a drive, it seemed only fitting that one of my first activities in Napa was to get a massage. So my friend and I headed over to the Spa at Napa River Inn.
Napa, California is a wine lovers paradise, set in wine country. There are plenty of hotels to choose from in and around the area. Trying to figure out which can be a little difficult, but The Meritage Resort & Spa has plenty to offer, making this the hotel to choose. I was pretty excited for my stay!
Usually in California, I have my own Cali girl to drive. This time around I was able to drive a 2016 Mazda3 S 5-Door Grand Touring. I wasn’t expecting much. I had never driven a Mazda before. Needless to say, I ended up falling in lust with the car and really didn’t want to give it back! To get your hands on a brand-new Mazda 3, check out this article explains how car finance works and before you know it, you’ll have one on your drive!
America’s Independence Day is tomorrow. Many people will be heading out of town, going to BBQs, throwing parties, setting off fireworks, or going to see some fireworks. I love the Macy’s fireworks in NYC when I am home, but my other favorite place to be on the 4th of July is at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA.
City Island, located in the Bronx, NY, is known for a handful of things! Besides scenes from one of my favorite movies, A Bronx Tale, it is also known for all the amazing restaurants that can be found there. One such restaurant is Seafood City!
Upon arrival to Seafood City you will notice a big parking lot. Depending on the time of year, that lot may be completely filled. No need to worry as there is another lot to handle the crowd. On days with amazing weather you will also see tons of bikers hanging out on their motorcycles.
Seafood City is not your typical restaurant. There is no host to seat you, no waiters coming to take your order, and no one coming to check and make sure everything is OK. Seafood City is a cafeteria style establishment. You get on a line, order your food, pay for it, and get a number. You find your own table. When your number is called you go and get your food.
If you are allergic or don’t care for seafood that is OK, there is an area to order pizza, burgers, fries, and more. There is another line you can jump on to order a drink. They also make great drinks that are not watered down by any means. The prices are good, especially for what you are ordering. Fried or boiled, it is your choice! Just remember they only take cash, but if you forget they do have an ATM.
There is also an arcade area for the family to enjoy. A huge outdoor patio overlooking the water with another bar is located outside. It can get pretty packed during beautiful weather and weekends. Long lines, that move at a decent pace can be found. You will find all walks of life enjoying lunch or dinner.
My favorite thing to order is the fried shrimp and whiting. It comes with fries, a pickle, cole slaw, and a lemon to squeeze. It is so good and very filling. Their shrimp is so good and well worth going for! The atmosphere is also enjoyable, watching the kids have fun and adults talking, listening to music, and enjoying themselves. If you ever get the opportunity, Seafood City on City Island is the place to go.
Have you ever been to City Island? If so, have you been to Seafood City? What is your favorite restaurant on City Island?
