While visiting Edinburgh, Scotland we stayed at the beautiful Scotsman Hotel. Located in Old Town, the hotel is a quick walk into New Town giving best of both worlds in this historic city.
Spain is a beautiful country. I have already been to Malaga and Madrid. Barcelona has been on my short list for sometime. I am finally glad I got the opportunity to visit. We tried to pack in as much as we could in a few days while also just relaxing a bit. I hope what we did will inspire your Barcelona plans. Here is how we spent 3 fun days in Barcelona, Spain.
The amount of places to eat in Barcelona are endless. So much so that it could be difficult to choose. I saw many of the same places recommended over and over to try out, but I didn’t bother. Once in Barcelona I looked at TripAdvisor and tried out one place a couple of blocks from the hotel. The other 2 places were highly recommended by this wonderful lady who worked at the hotel.
When visiting Barcelona you must see some of Antoni Gaudi’s work. His name is synonymous with this Catalonian city. His work can be found all over the city with over 20 sites to see and choose from. I had the opportunity to see some, but got up close to 4. I wish I had seen more, but I will save that for the next time.
I have been wanting to visit Barcelona, Spain for some time now. I have already been to Malaga and Madrid. Those two cities were great, Malaga being my favorite of the two. They have helped make Spain one of my favorite places to visit, but Barcelona really made it even more so. With so much to see and do in this city, there are things you should know before heading there!
Spending 24 hours in Madrid, Spain wasn’t enough to see and do everything. Although it wasn’t we still had ample time to really get an idea of this beautiful city and enjoy it. On our way back from Marrakech, Morocco we stopped here to check out what Madrid had to offer before heading back to the States. So if you are just passing through or have a limited time this is a great starting point.
I have been hearing about Bruges so much anytime Brussels is mentioned. Everyone is always saying how Bruges is a must visit. With all the hype and talk I felt like I couldn’t go to Belgium and not see Bruges. Luckily Bruges is only an hour away by train from Brussels. So we walked to the train station, bought our tickets, and hopped on the train.
Honestly I am not even sure it was 36 hours. It was somewhere around that give or take, since I took a day trip to Bruges. For all intensive purposes I will just say 36. Brussels is a beautiful city with plenty to see. Per usual, I was able to cram a lot into a short amount of time. So if you have a little bit of time to explore this city or just want some ideas of what there is to do, this is for you!
