It is a known fact that Queens, New York is an extremely diverse place. You can travel all around it and experience so many different cultures. With that comes all types of foods! At the Queens International Night Market that is exactly what you get, different types of foods from all over the world. So of course my friend, Joanna and I had to see what all we could eat!
Malaga, Spain has some beautiful street art. Knowing this I made it mission to take time out during the day to find it. After talking a walking tour I asked the guide where I could find the area. She handed me a map and showed me. Turns out it wasn’t all too far from the Airbnb I was staying at. Even though I knew the area, it took a moment to find the actual streets, but once I did there was art everywhere.
Some art I found on the walking tour near the infamous El Pimpi. It was so beautiful and vibrant. The colors popped and the artwork felt like it was in dimensions. You can’t miss it and you can’t help, but to stop and see all of it. A flamenco lady with a fan, a horse, and more were very beautiful. I was mesmerized by every mural I saw, they were truly fantastic. I had seen murals before from artists similar to those at MuralForm but never in this capacity. There was a mural on every street corner and there were never two the same.
After the tour and a little relaxation my friend and I took a walk over to an area called SoHo. All you need to do is walk around a bit and you will start to see street art all over and around. Some of the buildings house businesses while others are abandoned. There weren’t many people walking around as we strolled along the streets early/mid-afternoon.
You have to be careful when walking around the abandoned buildings. There are so many pigeons around and bird droppings on the ground. Luckily we didn’t get pooped on. I was afraid a bird was just going to drop one on me, but it never happened thankfully.
I even noticed a tagger who spray painted my name a couple of times. I thought that was pretty cool. Sometimes even finding my name on souvenirs isn’t too easy, so to actually see a tag was awesome. Also it is important to look up. We almost missed a couple of pieces because we didn’t look all the way up. We also ran into an amazing mural that just looked so cool.
There is so much to see. I am not sure how often they may change or not. I did notice some were painted over. I assume it is possible some may not be there at one point or another. There is a lot of construction going on in Malaga. I would assume if they did something with those abandoned buildings there is a possibility of them painting over some of the art. However it is a noted area to find street art even with placards around the area, so I would think art will always be around there.
All the art is cool and a sight to see. If you are ever in Malaga I highly recommend checking out the street art and murals. To see more street art around Malaga, Spain, check out the vlog below!
Napa, California is widely known for its wine. There are several vineyards and wine tours all up and down the area. Just as much as Napa Valley is said to have amazing wine, they also have delicious food. Restaurants and other food vendors are everywhere. There are several Michelin rated restaurants to choose from or more affordable and less fancy, but equally delicious establishments to choose from. So when I got the opportunity to take the Foodies on Foot Food Tour, I couldn’t wait to taste all the different food!
When heading out to Napa, California, usually the first thing on almost everyone’s mind is wine. Although for many that is a great way to unwind, heading to the spa is an awesome way to do so as well! So after a long flight and then a drive, it seemed only fitting that one of my first activities in Napa was to get a massage. So my friend and I headed over to the Spa at Napa River Inn.
