I have been wanting to visit the Georgia Aquarium for a while. Everyone has always said how great it is. I knew my niece really wanted to go and I promised I would take her one day soon. Well that day came and we decided to do a fun family outing to the aquarium.
We purchased the tickets on the website and printed out the tickets. There were no lines when we went so we walked straight in. The Georgia Aquarium is the largest in the western hemisphere with 10 million gallons of water. There is plenty to see and do while there. We honestly didn’t even get the chance to see it all.
We had a great time walking around seeing otters, sharks, all types of fish, sea nettles, albino alligators, and so much more. Of course I was looking for Nemo and Dory and my discovery left me a bit disappointed. (You will have to watch the vlog to find out why.) Everything was split amongst 2 floors and in different sections.
Some of the areas even had moving walk ways to allow you to stand on it and look up at all the creatures swimming above and around you. There was one tank that was so amazing and fascinating that my family and I dubbed it “the best tank.” It was huge and there were divers swimming around with a guide. Another followed them taking pictures and videos. There was so much to see and so much going on in the tank.
Another area was like a huge tank taking up the entire wall. You were able to either sit on the steps or on the ground and just enjoy watching everything swim by. We sat down for a while watching all types of fish and sharks going by. It was really nice and we enjoyed it. There are a few areas that allow you to touch a sting ray and other things. No worry there is Purell on hand afterwards.
I also did some crawling around to really get up close and personal with some penguins. There was a little area where you could stand up and look out the glass and see them walking around. It was pretty cool. We didn’t get to see one of the shows because the theater filled up quickly so if you want to see one get on the line early! There are games you can play and I lost them all to my niece. She was just too good.
If you are in the Atlanta area I highly suggest visiting the Georgia Aquarium. There is plenty to see and fun for the entire family. There is also plenty to do in the surrounding area. So head on over there and have some family fun at the Georgia Aquarium.
Have you ever been to the Georgia Aquarium?

I’m so ashamed to admit this: I’ve never been. All of my children have either with my hubs or their school but I personally have never been. I’ve got to go and your post reminded me. LOL! I’ll make the trip.
Holly Dayz
I hope you get there soon then. It is a great place. You and your family would have a nice time.

That room where you can walk under the water looks so cool. I’ve never been at an aquarium where you can do that. Must be amazing to see all the fish around you.
Holly Dayz
It was cool. There were so many really cool areas that we enjoyed.

I haven’t either. That was a first for me, but pretty cool to allow you to enjoy that way.

Looks great! Love the walk way tank, I think I could watch the fish swim by all day and not get sick of it! We just visited the Baltimore aquarium this weekend and had a wonderful time!
Holly Dayz
We sat down around a lot of the tanks or stood watching for awhile. You can definitely become mesmorized by it.

After I watched the Finding Dory movie, I have wanted to go to the aquarium. Unfortunately, my city doesn’t have one. I should have visited the one in Georgia when I was there last month!
Holly Dayz
I still need to go see Finding Dory, I am slacking haha. If you get the chance to go back to Georgia maybe you can visit this one.

We love the aquarium. We haven’t been to the Georgia Aquarium in a while. Which is kind of sad since we live here. But we have enjoyed past visits. We have to get back though I want to see those penguins.
Holly Dayz
Oh yea you have to go back. Seems like they are always trying to keep things fresh and new for people to enjoy over and over.
