Fun and Different Things To Do In Las Vegas Pt. 2

There are so many things to do in Las Vegas. Drinking, gambling, and hitting the nightlife are what most know of, but there is so much more. Las Vegas seems to have it all, but I bet you didn’t realize just how important Las Vegas actually is though, did you? For example, how much of the Las Vegas strip history do you actually know? How many famous people have walked it? How many famous people (like nelson sardelli) have come from Vegas? You might think that these questions are a little random, but in order to fully appreciate Vegas, you have to know it’s history. Just so you can really appreciate it before you go out and have fun. You don’t need me to tell you how much fun you can have in the casinos, although you may be surprised to learn that you can have just as much fun playing something like paypal slots if you’re unable to visit Vegas for any reason. Last year I let you in on some Fun and Different Things to do in Las Vegas. I promised I would come back with another round and I am here to deliver. I can pretty much guarantee there will be another follow up to this. So if you are wondering what else there is to do in Sin City, keep reading. It is currently the tallest ferris wheel in the world standing at 550 feet. Rides can be taken day or night. I went at night and enjoyed the view of Vegas lit up. I would suggest trying sunset, so you get the best of both worlds! The High Roller is a 30 minute ride roundtrip and you can bring a drink on if you’d like.

2. Neon Boneyard – The Neon Museum is home to the Neon Boneyard. Old signage from Las Vegas’ yesteryears are housed here. All the hotels and businesses that are gone and have been demolished have signs in the Boneyard. It is very cool to see and learn more about the signs and the history of Las Vegas. Luckily the Neon Museum has maintained them very well and you can take a tour. I recommend going during cooler months or as the sun goes down to avoid the intense Vegas heat!

3. A Helicopter Ride – What better way to see the Las Vegas strip then with a helicopter ride. Although it went pretty quickly it was an amazing experience I won’t soon forget. I went at night, once again to see Las Vegas all lit up. I had a great view of everything. There are also helicopter rides to the Grand Canyon and other places as well.

4. Paddle Boarding – As I said in a previous post there are a couple of lakes in Las Vegas. I headed over to my favorite place, Lake Las Vegas and discovered paddle boarding there. Perfect place to go and it was my first time paddle boarding! With the beautiful views and great company, I had so much fun. It was also a great work out. At the end I jumped in the water to cool off from the August heat.

5. Zip Lining – There are a few places to zip line in Las Vegas. After watching friends do it in the past, I finally got it together and tried it out for myself. Freemont Street is home to SlotZilla. The zip line sends you across the Freemont Experience. They have also added an addition recently that will have you zipping by like Superman. I have yet to try that one, but I had a great time flying across from one end to the other.

Have you ever done any of these things in Las Vegas?

Paddle Boarding in Vegas? Who knew? I have always wanted to visit the Neon Boneyard, I think that would be really cool. Thanks for all the tips!

    • Holly Dayz

Yea! You would be surprised what you can do in Vegas! The Neon Boneyard is pretty awesome! I enjoyed it.

  • thesophislife

I agree! There are many fun things to do there. I have been several times even though I do not gamble. The zip lining and Ferris wheel-will add those for next time!

    • Holly Dayz

I don’t gamble either, although I have placed a few bets on football and tried a slot machine for the heck of it. Yea, add that to your must do!

  • patricemfoster

I have been to Las Vegas several times not for the gambling but for food, shows and the different activities but I had never been on a helicopter ride this is so cool must try next time.

    • Holly Dayz

The food is great, there is so much to choose from. The helicopter ride is a great experience. I recommend it.

  • Chasing Joy

I love Vegas. If only it were closer to Philly. I’d check out the Ferris wheel and the zip line.

    • Holly Dayz

I love Vegas too. They have been having some good fares to Vegas.

  • Janelle

DANG! Vegas is really all that!! I say that because I didn’t know all of this! I visited Vegas 8 years ago. Maaannn was that place HOT!! It was like a blow dryer heat. Didn’t do much there because I didn’t take this time out to really explore the state. I love what you’re sharing here because it’s really looking enjoyable.

    • Holly Dayz

There is a lot to do in Vegas, I don’t even think people realize that. Vegas has definitely changed in the past 8 years and continues to evolve. That is a great analogy, try going in the winter months.

  • beckyginther

Very cool, I had no idea some of these things were in Vegas! We want to go but aren’t big gamblers so we’ll be looking for other options like these 🙂

    • Holly Dayz

There is so much more to do then gamble! You will have a great time without giving your money to a table or slot machine!

  • Beth McIntire

I love Vegas but haven’t been back in around 12 years. Our last trip was right before our first child was born. Not surprisingly, there are a lot more things to do now. Hope to return again someday!

    • Holly Dayz

It has changed a lot in 12 years. There is so much to do, I hope you get back soon to see for yourself.

  • Krysta Knight

My bff and I will be going to Las Vegas to celebrate our birthdays next year (they are a week apart). I’ll have to bookmark this! Thanks for sharing 🙂

    • Holly Dayz

Awesome, you will have a blast! Very welcome.

  • Kathryn With Going Zero Waste

The neon boneyard sounds so cool! Definitely on the list for when we go back to Vegas.

    • Holly Dayz

That was a lot of fun. Would have been even better sans the blazing noon sun!

  • Shobha

that zipline definitely looks cool! does anyone go to Vegas for gambling anymore 😉

    • Holly Dayz

I need to try the superman zipline. They actually do, and will stay in the casino all day and night.

  • Mommy Wants Coffee

I knew about a couple of these, but had no idea about the High Roller. It will be on my things to do next time I get the chance to visit. Thanks!

    • Holly Dayz

The High Roller is a lot of fun. It is a big pod so you can move around and has great photo ops.

  • Staci

I love Vegas!! Never a dull moment there. I would love to do a helicopter ride and try paddle boarding!

    • Holly Dayz

Me too. One of my fav places, it never gets old to me. You should do that next time you go.

  • tina

I have enjoyed Las Vegas numerous times. Sometimes just for the shows (which are the best) and sometimes for gambling. I loved the Liberace Museum and going to the top of the Eiffel Tower. There’s a lot to do there without being drunk all the time!

    • Holly Dayz

I love the shows. I have a list of ones I still need to see. There is tons to do!

  • Kita Bryant

I can’t wait to go to Las Vegas I am thinking about it for my 35th birthday in a few years. I am gathering up all my intel now to get ready.

    • Holly Dayz

You will have a great time! There is much to do and see.

  • Aisha Adams

Thank you for sharing this side of Las Vegas…
Now I know I wouldn’t have to leave my teenager at home if I went there is plenty of fun to be had… Great post!

    • Holly Dayz

Very welcome. You can bring your teen with you because there is much to do there. They are even working on making it an even more family friendly place.

  • Jonna

I’ve never been to Vegas, but I would do all of these things there – and anywhere for that matter. Well I wouldn’t paddleboat anywhere because I like seafood on my plate and not in the water. But these activities all look so fun!

    • Holly Dayz

Paddleboarding is in a man made lake. It was so much fun.

  • Tiki

I was just telling my boo this morning that I wanted him to plan a trip for us to Vegas. I would love to take that helicopter ride.

    • Holly Dayz

You two would love it! The helicopter ride was great. We got picked up in a limo to get to the place.

  • Tyra

I love the High Roller but I haven’t been to the Neon Junkyard or to Lake Las Vegas. I will have to check some of these out next time I am there.

    • Holly Dayz

I love the High Roller too! I enjoyed it.

  • Mimi "MimiCuteLips" Green

Every time I see a post about Vegas I take more notes. I’ve still not been but from blog post I’ve planned out at least two weeks of activities.

    • Holly Dayz

I hope you get there soon! There is so much to do I am always doing something new.

  • everydayeyecandy

I’ve done all of these things in Vegas except the helicopter ride! But next time, it’s on my list!!

    • Holly Dayz

      The helicopter ride is awesome!

  • Chrystal, ChryssVI

I’ve never been to Vegas but when I do get there I just want to take in the atmosphere and visit the casinos ????

  • Christine K. St.Vil (@MomsNCharge)

Ok so when hubby and I first went to Vegas, I was dying to do a helicopter ride over the grand canyon but was too chicken. I’ve always wanted to do zip lining too but again…chicken LOL This looks like so much fun though so maybe I’ll conquer these fears next time I’m in town 🙂
